In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.

The adventure centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an special katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
